I'm doing a little research

into some fax services and came across this site. Does anyone have experience with using PamFax?

PamFax is an add-on available through Skype so I checked out their website. They have a Fax-in feature that comes with a fax number, which gives you the ability to send and receive faxes. They also have a free option to send faxes, but you can't receive faxes unless you purchase the Fax-in plan for $3.95/mth. No fax machine is required because everything is on-line.

I'm thinking about using there service, but I would like to know what others think about it first. I plan on trying out the free version so I can at least send faxes when I need to.

"Correction"

It is .06 per page to send a fax using prepaid credits and .09 per page if you pay as you go. I still want to check into this a little further.

Hi Angela,

I tried out PamFax through Skype and I was charged more (there was no "free" to it) than what they quote for faxes AND I could only get the cover page to go through. I was very dissatisfied with this service. This was quite awhile ago so maybe they have improved since then.

I haven't had a need for a fax service yet, but there are a lot of free services out there that others have used.

If you do try out PamFax, please let me/us know how it goes.

I use MyFax and it has always worked great. I have a regular phone number and they also have toll free numbers. It's only $10 per month and I don't recall any limitations. They also have an affiliate program.

I just posted this in another thread, but thought I should this here too...One comment that I would like to present since I've been doing fax research. If you don't receive a prompt reply from the sales or support department - just think of how they'll respond when you are their customer! I've found this once already with an online "chat" at one company. We were connected and chatting, but he took forever to reply almost like he didn't know the sansers. I became so impatient, that I replied back I would not use their service based on our "chat". I have to go help my DH, so I'll replay back with my research comments too (since it's taken almost an entire day to research all these companies!). LOL
