Default Help!!! Phone situation
I really need some input here.

I currently have a free evoice number, which only allows me to receive email messages of my calls and a free efax number and a skype account which I use to call clients back.

My issue is I need a phone number that I can be picked up online or forwarded to cell, home etc. and also allow me to call clients.

I was considering getting an actual number with Skype and if I am not mistaken this number will allow me to receive calls, make calls and have a voice mail but with no faxes.

If I get a Ring Central number I will be able to receive calls and have a fax number but will not be able to make calls from my number.

Does anyone have a preference or suggestion for either? Or perhaps there is another company that can do it all that I am unaware of.

HELP!

Have you tried efax.com? I don't use their voice feature, but they have one, and it's toll-free for clients. However, it's not free for you. I've never heard of a service that allows you to call out on it.
Time to investigate Skype!

Hi Lisa,

I have Ring Central and I am able to make calls with my 800 number.

You click on the dial out button, it takes you online, you then enter the number of your 'landline' and the number you wish to call.

Your landline rings and when you answer it connects you to the number you wanted to call. Your Ring Central number is the one that shows up on the recipients caller id.

I hope I explained it clearly but feel free to message me if you have any questions!

I use Skype, and so far, I'm loving it.

I have/had home phone and DSL through one company, and am in the process of changing to a different company. At the moment, my home phone is off/not working, with installation due on Monday. My DSL still works through my old provider, and will change to the new one on Tuesday. It's a mess.

With the home phone off, I needed a way to make and receive phone calls, especially since I've go a wedding July 4th that I'm doing, and they need to be able to get ahold of me, and my son is out of town!

Skype out, in other words, the ability to make phone calls, is $2.95 a month for calls to U.S. and Canada. And Skype in, which gives me a phone number that people can call me, is $30 a YEAR. Yeah, that's awesome! Call quality has been great, and because I work on a laptop and have a Boingo unlimited wireless account, I can quite literally work ANYWHERE! Borders, Barnes and Noble, the local university pavilion, air ports, hotels, McDonalds... all sorts of places...

Basically, for $66 a year, I'm get unlimited inbound and outbound calls with Skype.

I also have Skype for both incoming/outgoing calls for $2.95 a month for the US and Canada. I have Ring Central for $10.00 month that gives me an 800 #. I cut the Verizon cord which saves me about $55/month. I have my cell for backup. You can get faxing services with Skype and Ring Central which I am still looking into. After researching I found out that eFax gives you a free version for IN faxes and Faxzero lets you send 6 pages free daily. It will cost you $1.99 if you want to send 15 pages. Another source for IN faxing is FaxDigits.com. I gave up my dedicated fax machine when I lost my landline so I am looking too. There are other options that you get more with but right now the limited options are just fine for me.
