Has anyone used Grasshopper?
I am looking into getting a 1-800 number. Is grasshopper a good way to go?

I've never heard of the company - do you have a link?

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
I have used Grasshopper. It is a wonderful service. I used it for our Church college. Their customer service is wonderful. I have no complaints. You may also want to check into using Ring Central.

One of my clients uses Grasshopper and we love it. It has helped all of his sales and office staff have a central location for phone support.

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
I use Grasshopper and am very happy with them. They offer a lot of different options which are included in the service and I haven't found a need for any additional services since I started using them. Both Ring Central and Grasshopper offer comparable services with their basic plan, it really depends on what your particular needs are.
Tess, Grasshopper used to be called GotVMail, which may be why the name sounds unfamiliar.

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
I used Grasshopper at my last J-O-B. It worked really well for making a smaller sized company seem large. It allows you to set different "departments" and numbered menu options to reach those people. (ie. Sales, Billing, etc). The calls roll into your specified landline either from outside calls coming in through a local number or the assigned 800#. There is also a roll over feature so that when a call isn't answered by the number of seconds you specify, it can ring another number, such a a mobile phone. If no one answers, a vm will be taken and an email sent to all recipients on the receiving list and an MP3 file of the vm is attached. Pretty fancy, but very simple!

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
I have a client who's phones I answer and she uses Grasshopper. I really like the fact that when I return a call on her behalf I can dial out from a landline phone and the caller ID shows her company information.

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
I use grasshopper and ring central with clients. Both are equally good. I just recently started using eVoice & SmartFax as bundle package for myself and I really like it as well. With eVoice I have an app on my cell phone that allows me to make calls from my cell phone and display my business number which I like. I don't like my cell phone number displaying. I have 5 extensions, both voice and fax have toll free numbers, conference calling, voice mail and all the little features. It's pretty nice.
If you are just looking for a business line and no extras google voice has free numbers. They even offer a vanity number. I have a vanity number with google voice, but I just started using the other service. I am still keeping my google voice number however because with my cell phone it allows me to get free transcripts of my calls / visual voicemail. With my cell phone carrier you have to pay for visual voicemail, but if I use a google voice number and tie it to my phone I get that for free. What's cool about it is even if they are calling my cell phone I still get the voicemail through google as long as I have the number tied to my phone.

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
Hello All,
I have been looking into phone options all week. I have never heard of Grasshopper but plan to check it out ASAP. LOL. Sounds like they have the features I'm looking for just starting out. Thanks for the info once again!

Re: Has anyone used Grasshopper?
We use Phone.com for our business 800 #. www.phone.com I have tried RingCentral and a few of the others over the years, but am glad I came across Phone.com. And their customer service is out-of-this-world --I love their online chat or telephone option.
