Re: Free text messages from your computer
If you guys have Gmail accounts you can also text your clients for free from your Gmail. You need to activate it though.
On your Gmail page, go to settings -> labs -> Then look for SMS and activate it.
To send SMS, hover your mouse over a contact on Chat (on the left pane) and click Video and more then Send SMS. If this is your first time to send SMS to that contact, it will ask you to put in the phone number. Replying to your message will show in your chat box with that person in your Gmail page.
Just make sure you state your name because the receiver will get a number he/she isn't familiar with.
Google Voice has a free SMS feature too, the difference are, with Google Voice, the receiver will get your own Google voice number. Also with Google Voice, you can send to other foreign countries (it never fail me sending to a Philippine mobile number, some says it can send to mobile numebr in Europe) though Google Voice says only works to a US number. With Gmail, only US numbers goes through.
You may want to check out Chikka.com too. Free SMS to US and UK and some handful of countries around the world.
