Default Free Phone Service by Ooma
Hi everyone,

I haven't seen this option listed for telephone service, but I have Ooma phone service. It is free, but you must have an internet connection provider. It's an internet phone service. There are paid services available as well, but I use the free service. It includes caller ID and call waiting.

One more thing is that you have to buy the HUB which is the device that makes this service work. I have had it since Dec 2007 and I have no complaints.

You can check it out for yourself to see if this may be an option for you at www.ooma.com.

I hadn't heard of this until you posted it and Juliabelle replied
$250 does seem like an expensive investment but if it means no more monthly phone bills.. well, then I guess it would pay for itself after some time.

I'm still a big fan of Skype and am sticking with that for now, but definitely appreciate having this info!

You're welcome, Tess. @ Juliabelle, it is expensive, but that is a one-time expense. We use it as our home phone, and we've haven't had a telephone bill since December 2007. I decided to obtain a separate number through the free Google Voice service for my VA business, so I have the calls routed to my free home phone. I am loving this!
