Default Email Management
Hi - I just posted this in a different area, but then found this which is probably a better spot for the post....

I'm wondering who out there manages email for their clients. Can you tell me how to go about setting this up and do you need special software to do this. It seems as though it can be set up through outlook, but I'm stumped.

THANK YOU!

Hi Dejong,

I don't currently offer this service but was thinking about. I found a great service called mail2web.com and it's lets you check any email from their site.

I'm actually adding a gadget to my website that will allow people to check their email regardless of provider from my site using this tool.

You might check it out. I though it would be great for email management when your checking mulitple accounts. This will allow you do it all from one location.

Hope this helps.

Why not have them provide you with their password and you can check using their webmail services (which most email addresses have)?

A couple of my clients have set me up with email addresses on their mail accounts so that I can send mail on their behalf and it looks like the email comes from their company, not mine. If the clients go away, they could forward their email to you and you could answer it that way.

I use mail2web also, when I have to, the thing I dont like about though is that you cannot see messages that were sent from another place, meaning not sent from mail2web; so if the client sent out an email using outlook or something similar it does not appear at mail2web. Other then that its great.

Hi, there have been great replies to this question.

From a technical perspective, before I can reply to your question, I would like to know the following:
1. What email client do you use - Outlook Express, Outlook on Exchange Server, free email, etc?
2. What email client does your client use?
3. What operating system do you and your client use?
4. Any security, privacy, and cost concerns important to you and your client?
5. When you say email management - is this a temporary measure while client is away on holiday or on a permanent basis?

Based on your situation, I can have a better overview which will enable me to recommend a solution.

Best regards,
Grace Long

Hi Grace. I use Outlook Express, they use Outlook on Exchange and Express at home. We both use Windows. I have Vista. I am not sure which version they are using. Some privacy issues until we know eachother better, but I expect that to ease with time. Cost is always an issue :-). When I say email management I mean on a permanent basis, but also for others over holiday.

Thanks,
Jenn
