Default Droid anyone?
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has purchased a Droid phone and if you like it. Did you replace your IPhone or Blackberry? What do you love or hate about it?

I think because of the integration with Google it would be a dream. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Angela

Oh, I want one! I think I am going to give up on a blackberry for one, especially the Motorola one. But, the new is coming out in March, so who knows. Currently I have a smartphone with windoze mobile on it.

I upgraded from a Palm Treo 700w which I loved to the Motorola Droid around a month ago. The device works well. I am not "in love with it" but mainly because I am an Outlook fanatic and don't like the work around necessary to sync. The Exchange account works well. I do not like the placement of the on and off switch as I find it difficult to press. Overall I think it is a solid device. There are many apps available for it and I am slowly building up my list.

I'm with ATT so I'll have to wait to see what they have to offer. My friend (an IT guy) loves the Droid and thinks everyone should switch to Verizon to get their hands on it. I haven't upgraded to a smartphone yet, so I'll be keeping my eyes open.

I'm with T-Mobile and started out with a BlackBerry Pearl, which I enjoyed very much. I am a Google fanatic, and when my renewal was up I got a G1 in July 2009. I specifically chose it over the MyTouch because I wanted a physical keyboard, not only an onscreen keyboard. The G1 was the first phone on the market that was Droid based.

I absolutely LOVE it. True, there aren't as many apps as on iTunes, but I have yet to not be able to find an app I want or need. I will continue using Droid phones as long as I can. I plan on having a lot of my business Google-based (for example, my official email address will automatically forward to my business Google address; I don't wan to initially advertise a Gmail address because of possible initial stereotypes of "free = non-professional"), and will be able to adapt much of it onto my phone.

Some of the apps I have include Seesmic (Twitter aggregate), Documents to Go, Google Talk, Pandora. All of these are FREE, I have yet to pay for an app (though I might with DtG, there is a lot that the free version won't do).

As I get new apps, I'll list them on here if people are interested. I have not once felt left out, or behind technology, because I have a Droid-based phone vs. iPhone.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm thinking about getting the Motorola Backflip which is a Droid phone, but since I didn't know anyone who had one I wasn't sure if it would live up to its advertisements.

I am an iPhone user. (Loyal to iPhone, NOT to AT&T.) I LOVE my iPhone. I can not image my life without this phone.

Alright, I broke down and got the Droid Eris from HTC. Verizon had it on special and I could not resist. The Google integration is immaculate!!!! Also syncs flawlessly with Facebook, Flicker, and Twitter. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!! A must if you are a Google fanatic. It tok me about 2 weeks to figure it all out though. It did not come with a user manual.

I have the motorallo Driod from Verizon and I do love the phone.

It links perfectly with google apps, including gmail, calendar, docs, and more. The navigation is awesome--just like a GPS for my car with turn by turn directions and even street view. There are lots of apps available-many that are just for fun but I love the following apps most: Executive Assistant : instantly shows where I have updates when I turn on the phone: email, facebook, twitter, missed calls, etc. Other good ones include TweetCaster: twitter app, facebook app, shazam (tags songs instantly anywhere), shopsavvy(lets you check a barcode and compare prices locally and on-line to get the best deal), Docs to Go(viewing documents), Meebo IM(lets me log into all my IM accounts in one place), google skymap(just really cool-shows you the all stars, etc wherever you are).

I like that the droid has both a touch screen and a physical keyboard--helps when entering more data or posting updates if you are going to type a lot at one time.

I was reading up on the Backflip by ATT and was amazed that they have Yahoo! as the browser. I mean, it's a Google product, why put Yahoo! on it? Thanks everyone who has shared their experiences with the Droid OS.

I think I'll get a Nexus One for my next phone. Made by HTC (which makes very good phones) and has a Droid for OS. It's the latest Google phone.

I do not have one however my husband works with a guy who does. I laughed at this post because all I could think about was hubs telling me that he drives him crazy all day because all you keep hearing is "DROID" voice ring coming from the phone.

Hmmm...maybe I should get one for those times I want to drive him crazy too!
