Thanks for all the great info and links. I just signed up with RingCentral and am learning to utilize all the features.

I did get an 800 number for both my phone and fax and am happy that I went ahead with that - I like the image it presents to clients. Just my 2cents.

Grand Central does not offer toll free numbers. RingCentral and OneBox do. Grand Central will do a lot of fun things that RingCentral and OneBox don't offer. An example of this is that you can choose rings for particular numbers calling you. It's all part of Grand Central's service. Not everyone has access to Grand Central. I'm not even sure of the prices Grand Central is going to charge or is charging. I have a client that uses it, and they pay nothing for the service.

Hello all:

For me, I use Phone.com and RingCentral. Phone.com does not have any type of download for software and you can listen to your voicemail messages online. When someone calls, the 800 number I have shows up on my cellular caller ID versus the individuals' phone number who is calling. This way - it allows me to figure out which extension a person is calling from.

RingCentral offers the additional feature of having a fax built in - therefore I use this as my internal fax for the business itself. In addition, Ring Central also has a way of programming your RC phone number to show on your home/cell number versus the individual's phone number.

I recommend both depending on your needs. Have a wonderful Monday!

I was able to get a 'vanity' number that is the name of my business - ADMIN2U - through Ring Central. It's very cost effective, and I also like the internal fax.

I use RingCentral for this service, and it works well. I also just signed up with www.vumber.com; it's in beta, and I wanted to try it free for 30 days as a comparison. It's the same/similar concept as RingCentral.

I also have ring central and love it. You have the option to set extensions (for you & your partner) and forward them to your cell phones. They also have where the option to screen your calls.

Good luck!

I found this website that is great for comparing companies for 800 #'s, faxes, etc. It was very helpful in deciding which service to use.

I use my cell phone as my business phone and it works out well. The auto answer has my business voice message; or if I answer it myself, I always answer it with my business name.
