Default Do you use an 800#?
Hi all,

My partner and I are struggling with how to set up our phones. We are not going to be an answering service, but we do need a designated number for the business. We both have cell phones and home phones and have thought that maybe we could each use our cell phones or each use our home phones, but then we have two business lines and that is silly. Another problem that remains, is that we will be working out of our own homes so we need to have something that we can both access and somewhere people can leave messages.

I thought of setting up an 800 number and then we would each have an extension, but I would prefer not to have an automated system when someone calls (I despise them and I know others do to). What do you all use?

Any suggestions or recommendations on how you would handle this situation??

Thank you in advance for your response!

Rikki

Check out Ringcentral. I'm not sure it will solve all of your problems but I think it will work.

Be sure to check out the conversations we've had about Ringcemtral. Here, Here & Here

I have ring central as well, mostly just for people to leave messages but I think it can work for your needs as well. And it's extremely affordable, especially if you get the 30 day free trial or sign up for a year at time.

I've used Evoice Receptionist in the past. It has extensions which may be assigned to both you and your partner's cell. You have the option of having your clients listen to music or ringing when they answer. They also have a free trial period.

Hi,

I used to used GotVmail, but I found that RingCentral offers me better service. However, I have a question for anyone who uses ringcentral, how do you work the caller id. I want my 800 number to show up not the caller ID, I want to be able to look at my caller id and say "Yes, I need to take this call."

Thanks

This page has more info than you probably need but it does get you to the section you want to change.

I use GotVMail and love it. It's especially handy to have my fax number the same as my #800 and the call forwarding options are extensive, good luck!

I use ring central, it rolls them directly to my cell phone which is my business phone during the day.
