Default Zoho Invoice and Invoicera
Has anybody used or is currently using Zoho Invoice or Invoicera, if so, how well did it work for you? I have been testing the two with free accounts and cannot seem to decide. I was leaning towards Invoicera, but now feel more drawn to Zoho. It doesn't have the timer like Invoicera, but I like the other features it offers such as emails notifications you can send the client and it is very user friendly. The $8/mo upgrade plan seems it would suit me best.

Hi Alison,
I use zoho for the crm management. It works really well for that. I have not used the invoice with ZoHo yet. I use freshbooks and am ver happy with it. It gives me the time tracker as well as the invoicing. You can have up to 3 clients free and then option to upgrade if you need more. Since I am just starting and have only two clients this works for me the best. I hope this helped some. Hope all goes well for you!

Thank you both for your input! I still have not made a decision. I'm still trying out Invoicera and Zoho. I tried Freshbooks, but the pricing turned me off a bit. Invoicera does have a nice user interface with a lot of features. I've been playing around with Zoho Business and like how all the apps, even Invoice, integrates. Everything is all in one place. I don't know... feel so overwhelmed now. I'm just starting out.

No problem. Since your just starting out I would try them both out and play alittle if you can and see which best fits you and your business. I know it is all overwhelming at this point but just take a breath and a little step back and just review your options. Then make your decision. If perhaps later you think that what you choose isn't for you after all , just switch. In other words ...don't stress. It will come together. Wish you all the best!

Read this review of Invoicera http://www.reverbstudios.ie/blog/invoicera-review/ the writer compares it to Zoho, and you'll see it is not as powerful or flexible as Zoho. The reviewer says Invoicera is confusing in many ways and has the usual features but Zoho seems more advanced and looks ad performs better. HTH

Yesterday I decided to go with Zoho Invoice. One of my main objectives was to have everything in one place - invoices, calendar, documents, notes, meetings, etc. Zoho Business will allow me to have all that. After tinkering with Invoicera some more, Zoho appealed to me the most. I really like the dashboard showing the open invoices, overdue invoices by number of days, and sales, receipts, and due by day, week, month, quarter, and year. It also has many helpful reports. And the pricing structure isn't bad for me just starting out. For right now I will use the free service (unlimited customers and send 5 invoices/estimates per month). I only have one client right now so that will suffice. Eventually I'll move to the $8/mo plan (unlimited customers and 25 invoices/estimates per month). So, now I'm really excited that I'm getting my business tools lined up. I need to play with Zoho's CRM and other apps.

@bl prince... thanks for the link to the review. Zoho is simpler yet still has a lot of functionality. I can't believe I allowed myself to get so stressed between the two.

Hi Alison,
I'm glad you made your choice, it can be stressful at times trying to make the right decisions. Good luck with Zoho, I also use it.

I'm going to try Invoicera. I need a time tracker, would like to keep my clients organized and it links to paypal.

However, I'm brand new to paypal, so I'm not sure how to integrate the two.

Maybe Zoho *is* the way to go? It seems that Zoho is overkill for my needs, but maybe it's easier to use...

Hi All,
I have been using freshbooks but decided to try out Zoho and Invoicera. I found Zoho easier to use and the paypal integration was a lot easier to set up, just put in your paypal email. I also like the idea of being able to customise my invoices to look like my company branding.

Invoicera was a little difficult to set up with paypal, maybe it's the language that they use in asking for the information needed, you can't customize your invoices as much as with other systems and they do have time tracking where Zoho does not.

My personal choice is Zoho as it is simple and easy to use, you can always log into Freshbooks if you have an account and use their time tracking as this can work independently.
