Default Paypal!
Hi ... Does anyone know of an alternative to Paypal?

Not only the exchange rate is lesser .... they have lot of restrictions and it's becoming increasingly difficult to use it ...

Also, has anyone withdrawn from Paypal via check ? Is it safe?

Regards

I have been looking for alternatives too. Most people use Paypal, that is the problem.

If you Google Paypal alternatives you will get some information on this.

I had some problems with Paypal when my bank closed out my checking account by mistake last year. I am still dealing with this horror since last November.

Paypal froze my bank account and creditors didn't get paid. I then switched to a new bank and opened up 2 Paypal accounts instead of just the one.

One I use for for client payments and the other for invoices I need to pay my creditors.

It helped but I still want to find another alternative to Paypal as well. Getting them to fix anyone takes too long, emails don't have answered, calling them on the phone is another nightmare.

I would suggest any alternative vendors you are considering to Google reviews on them just to see what other people are saying about them. HTH.

I'm curious to know if you've found anything out? I currently use PayPal (my clients love using it and I love getting paid ASAP!) but I've heard horror stories from some folks too.

I personally had an issue with PayPal blocking my account a couple weeks ago, but called them up and was able to get everything taken care of beautifully. It seems that PayPal has a security feature that recognizes when your account is accessed from an area different from your home address.

I had just moved and was traveling and PayPal was concerned that someone was hacking my account. I was glad for the extra level of security and the rep on the phone was very pleasant and helpful.

A couple years ago I called them on another issue and had the complete opposite response, so maybe I got lucky, lol!

If I could find an easy way for my clients to pay their invoices and have the money available for me ASAP, I'd be all over it!

As for withdrawal, I've only ever transferred from PayPal to my linked bank account. It's worked perfectly!

Hi,

I use Intuit Billing Manager for online payments. They only charge $.50 per transaction and everything else is free! Paypal's fees are ridiculous.

Good luck!

I am continually on the look out for anything new. Unfortunately, PayPal is what people are familiar with and comfortable with. I have had not problem with them and knock on wood hope that this continues.

One thing I do know is when and if an alternative is available, you will find it mentioned here. We are really great about sharing good resources.

Re: Paypal!
I have a Google and a Paypal account. I like Google more than Paypal because I also had an bad experience with Paypal. They also locked my account because of a charge back from a client, but I had sense enough to always transfer my monies to my bank account. I never left anything in my Paypal account, I do the same with Google.

I am now looking into another called AcceptPay, it's offer through American Express, there is a $20.00 a month fee, along with the usual transactions fee. It an online payment management system. It does everything quickbooks does. So I am leaning towards this.

There has to be a better way than Paypal, Google is moving close, but I think Accept Pay has beaten them both. I will still keep Paypay and Google, but I will give my clients another choice.

There is a free 60 days trial for Accept Pay going on now.

I have a PayPal and I just added Google Checkout. I am new to the VP business and Google Cart. I have had limited experience with PayPal. I did see where you can create invoinces with the Google Checkout system. I hope this is helpful!

Hi,
I just checked into the Billing Manager Program (by Intuit) and it is being Cancelled as of September 2011. Too Bad, looks like it would've been a good and cost effective payment solution.
