Default Payment Options
How do you get paid for your services? Do you bill the client or do you have an online payment service?

I bill my clients. They can pay me by check, Intuit Payment Network, Paypal, or credit card. I've recently started using Square, which is now my all-time favorite iPhone app. Accept credit cards with no merchant account. Money from my new client was in my checking account in 2 business day. Totally awesome.

I never heard of Square. Is that only for iPhone or can you use it for blackberry? It sounds like a great product.

Running a credit card through Square without actually swiping a card is 3.5% + .15. I believe it is only for the iPhone, iPad and Android. I believe there are other apps for Blackberry. You'd have to search. I don't have a Blackberry so I don't know what they are.

Here is a a good article about Square and its competitors, Verifone and Intuit's GoPayment.
http://gigaom.com/2011/02/22/square-...ttle-heats-up/

A quick Google search to find Square shows clearly on the home page states that this can be used by Android, iPhone and iPad at this time.

But the other financial options mentioned might be worth investigating to see if they work with your phone.

Regards,
Janine

I will check in to Square. I have used Paypal for a lot of my purchases in the past and didn't know if that is what is standard or not. Thank you for your advice.

I had never heard of Square either and the article you linked us to was very informative for me. I didn't really consider taking payment info via my cell phone!

Square looks interesting. I use paypal or bank deposit for all payments

I'm also curious about what payment methods work best. I'd rather not have a ton of different payment options, don't really want to transact payments through my cell phone, and some people are put off by Paypal. I definitely don't want to start a merchant account at this point and checks really aren't a viable option either - they take too long to receive and clear, even longer when the client is around the globe.

Wondering what other payment options you're are using and what you use to process credit cards?
