Default Most popular payment method
Do most of you get paid by paypal? I do most often but I prefer electronic deposit, no fees but I assume mostly companies do this.

I think most people are so familar with PayPal because of their branding/marketing, but there are some issues with using their service that I've read on this forum. I always appreciate electronic deposit, but if clients want to use PayPal or a traditional form of payment like checks, then I make that available too.

Has anyone used Google Checkout? I have clients that also pay by setting up automatic payments to be made from their checking account and I receive a check.

I use PayPal, and with my local clients I will accept checks. I don't like the direct deposit because then they have my account number.

I'm thinking I'll be using Paypal, so it's good to hear other people's opinions on this. Thanks.

I have a PayPal account that I've only used for purchases. Do you know if I have to make changes to my account to begin excepting payment?

I would also be uncomfortable about people having my account number for direct deposit. Maybe one could have a seperate account specifically for receiving payments and use it like a sweep account. You would transfer the money to your main checking account whenever it arrives and just keep the minimum amount in the account that is required by your bank ($5 for mine). That way if your number ever got out, there wouldn't be any money to take. Also, then there wouldn't be any fees as there are with PayPal, etc.
