Default First International Client Invoicing
Hi everyone,

I've just got my first international client. He's in Ireland and I'm having trouble with the invoicing. I usually invoice my clients via paypal. I sent him the paypal invoice and he said that he received a paypal alert saying that it would take a couple of days for him to get his code in order to pay the invoice. I've never heard this before and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this or if my potential client is just bogus?

Thanks in advance

I have twp clients in the UK, one is a member of paypal and one isn't, neither of them have had any trouble paying my invoices. I've never heard of needing a "code".

Hi Trena,
I wanted to pop in and ask if you had any resolution to this issue or if you'd learned anything new since posting the question?
I have never heard of anyone needing a 'code' for their PayPal account - but would love to know how this panned out for you?

Hi Tess,

I finally got things squared away. He has a nonprofit business and was trying to register his paypal account as a business account. He ended of using the account of one of his assistants to make the payment. I later found out, because I manage his emails, that with a non-profit registering with paypal that there's a lot of red tape before they will clear any transactions. They did send him a code that he had to enter in to complete his registration but it kept giving him an error message saying that the code wasn't valid. We gave up on PayPal and I bill him using my merchant account. He's actually one of my best clients now. Thanks for the follow up Tess, this forum is great!!!!

I'm sorry I missed this original thread. I would have told you that it would indeed take a little while for a new Paypal client to get set up - even if they aren't an NFP. Glad to hear it's all sorted now.
