Default Re: Credit card Services besides Paypal??
I had problems with paypal, so I kicked them to the curb. I am using two payment solutions right now. Look at www.propay.com or www.alertpay.com.

Propay accepts credit cards and checks, you don't need a bank account. They are now offering a debit card with the credit card logo (I don't remember if it's Visa Or Mastercard). Yearly Fee of $59.00, I think it's 2.50% for each transaction and if you transfer monies from the account to your bank account it's 30 cents per transaction. You sent your client a link for payment, they have 14 days in which to respond after the 14 day the link is deactivate.

After signing up with Propay, I need a shopping cart for my other services. Propay had a merchant account for that, but the shopping cart must have been created before signing up, I didn't have the time to create one. So I did my research again.

In this forum I found Alert Pay, I didn't need a shopping cart, I created button to place on my website for each service. No sign up fee, but for each transaction is a little bit expensive.

I am now in the process of speaking with Callipay, through reading and researching again, I found that they are a good payment solution for a VA business. All in all, most of my client like Propay, some told me that becuase the link is sent to their email, they remember to pay their invoice, instead of going to my payment page. In the future because the fee for Propay is expensive, I will be charging a convenience fee.

Hopefully this help you. See the links below

Thank you for the links, Phyllis. Wow, there are just so many options for me to research now. I've got my work cut out for me.

I've used Propay in the past and recommend it too.

I was going to start using Paypal, but I can not afford to have any hold's on my account for any reason. I appreciate the other payment recommendations that have been listed.

Thanks everyone for all the additional options. I've always used paypal and I just recently had a prospect that didn't feel comfortable paying that way. I'd been meaning to research some other companies, but just haven't been able to find the time. Again thanks so much.

Thank you everyone for all of your solutions. I use Paypal for Ebay only as I do not have any clients that are far enough away that I do not take a cheque from them. But it is very useful to have options for when I do require a payment system.

Thank you all for your advice and sharing your experiences. I will probably opt not to use Paypal myself.

I just learned of Intuits payment processing but not sure if this particular service includes credit card processing as well. It's $.50 per transaction for check processing, that's it. Here's the link. https://paymentnetwork.intuit.com/PaymentNetwork/

Does anyone know of any such companies working within the UK. Having the facilities to take credit cards would certainlyh help - I was thinking of using Paypal but also cannot afford to have accounts frozen.

Hi

This is such an interesting thread. I was planning on using PayPal, but after some posts here I think I'll do a little more research. Thanks for our insights.
