Hope this helps.
Hi, using Propay is cheaper, a yearly account is $59 and that gives you the ability to accept all major credit cards including AX and Discover. There is a per transaction fee that isn't too bad. Is there a per transaction fee associated with Intuit.com?

I'm into my second month using PowerPay with Authorize.net along with wahmcart, not because I had any issues with PayPal but just that I wanted to upgrade. I was a little nervous about all the additional expenses, but it's just another step of faith action.

I use paypal and I also have paypal virtual terminal so I can accept credit cards and authorize credit cards. the price is $35/month and then there is the transaction fee (depends on the amount of transactions a month). It is rather expensive and it is temporary for now. I will check google checkout to see what they have that is similar.

I am going to give google checkout a try. I have had numerous paypal accounts, however I disliked them everytime because the fees are extremely high and they sometimes will freeze your account for no apparent reason

Thank you for the great suggestions. I work as a branch manager of a bank, and wanted to mention to make sure you do not get in a contract that requires a min. amount of transactions per month or you receive a fee.

Question Re: Accepting Credit Cards Payments
I have noticed that someone has already posted about the Google Checkout. I just set it up and was wondering if she liked it. Or if anyone else has an opinion? Thanks for all the advice on this so far. Paypal is a little too pricey!

To give you an idea of what QuickBooks Merchant Services charges, I'm listing the rates that are on the ProAdvisor site (we can sometimes pass along the ProAdvisor discount, so the rates are a little better than list price):
Setup: $9.95
Monthly fee: $9.95
Merchant fee: 2.2% (if card # is typed in) or 1.61% (if card is swiped)

It's not cheap, but I've heard so many horror stories about chargebacks with PayPal, that it might be worth the peace of mind.

HTH!

Wow, this is really eye-opening about Paypal, sounds like I should do some comparing before settling on one. So far, I've only been accepting checks, but would like to add a CC feature. I'm afraid I'll get a bad check! Thanks for the reviews.

Paypal does not require an account for your clients to pay you. There is a setting in your account that, if activated, allows clients to pay with a credit card without an account. The fees are steep. I use them only when my clients don't want to pay by check. I've heard good things about Google checkout.
