Default HR as a niche?

Hi all ...

Apart from Lori Lee, I haven't noticed any VA's providing HR services? Maybe I just can't see any posts on the subject? There does not seem to be any threads or forums about this either?

Is there a reason or am I just imagining this? Does anybody think there is a gap there to be filled?

Would like to hear from anybody providing HR or any thoughts on the subject ...

Louise

Hi

I posted to you above, but i am offereing HR and Project Management as my niche along with some admin services. Please let me know if i can answer any questions

in my experience one reason for this gap might be some HR Professionals tend to concentrate on one part of hr such as employee coaching or benefits or organizational management and they call themselves HR Consultants.

I am offering Human Resources services as well as administrative support at NuTech Virtual Assistants. A lot of my corporate and public service experience is in H.R., it's something I do best (to the point that I almost became a full-time recruiter as opposed to doing the V.A. thing).

I love HR and would like to addd that to my services soon. What types of businesses would you market and what type of HR functions would you provide? Just wondering if anyone wanted to concentrate even more on just industries as well as the HR part.

I've no experience in HR myself, but a colleague of mine is, and she is seriously considering taking on outsourced HR projects. It seems that there are not many VA's offering HR services ??

Human Resources has always been a major interest of mine. I have taken on an HR role in my past employed position as Office Manager. I loved it. I also help friends and family look for jobs and prep their resumes. Recently, I have taken on a HR type of role with a client too.

So, yes there absolutely is a niche to be filled for HR services. Industry wise, I guess you can find an industry you have a good amount of knowledge in and market your HR services to that industry. Just a thought.

I provide HR services to my clients, it kind of falls into place with bookkeeping and payroll, but it's not necessarily my niche. I don't focus on HR when I market but it is a service I provide and have experience in.

I am an HR professional, and I want to offer this service as a VA. I haven't seen many VAs offer this service, so I am still researching it. I agree with one of the other postings in that HR services are often marketed as HR Consulting. My expertise falls into the HR Generalist and Labor Management categories, so I need to focus on small businesses that don't have or necessarily need an inhouse HR office.

Seems that you've found a great niche, there does not seem to be many offering what you offer, well done!

Best of luck

This is interesting.
I do have certifications in HR and my background employment has all been in recruitment etc, though I didn’t think of offering my expertise as a service.
Why?
To be honest - I’m not sure how I would approach companies in regards to this. How would I go about this? Would I write a letter or would I call the company?

Any help or thoughts on this?

Thanks
Erin
