Default What do you put in your email signature?
Hello,

I am about ready to create an email signature for my VA business. It prompted my curiousity what you guys had in yours.

I'm thinking of making mine like this:

Brenda A. Jones
Virtual Assistant & Web Designer
Email: email address here
www.brevos.com

I've also considered maybe show myself as an owner of Brevos but I'm not sure at the moment.

HA! We just talked about this a couple weeks ago and I'm in the middle of preparing a blog post about it.

For me:

Amanda Moore
Virtual Assistant
**Email address**
http://amvirtualassistant.com/blog/

And on my personal account I also include an HTML script that scrolls through my last 4 blog posts.

Well, I only have that because my site isn't up yet. I assume your blog will be linked to your site so it's probably not necessary to have both.

Oh my gosh Dana! Please tell me you only send that on first messages not on every email. I don't mean to be rude but scrolling through that would be a turn-off to me as a client. Really long/detailed sig lines drive me a bit batty - IMO that's what an About Me page on a website is for. If it's the first contact fine but for subsequent replies, etc. you might consider something shorter... Just my $.02

At the very least, put your contact info - which is what your sig line is for - at the top of the list so people don't have to go hunting for it. Then they can ignore the rest if they're not interested.

PS - sorry Tess!

Oops, sorry Tess. I entered the email address automatically by habit. But, as a moderator, I oughta remember that rule!

Red face Re: What do you put in your email signature?
I think a lot is fine because you never know who they might forward your email communications to and it is another form of advertising - even if a small amount compared to a website, flyer, etc. I also think that changing it up (varying the font size, style, color) every once in a while will catch people's eye and they might notice something that they hadn't noticed before. If you use outlook set up a different sig for every type of message you send out: new message, reply, forward, new client, potential client, standard client, etc...you can make them all a unique. I have one set that just has my name and nothing else which I use for casual communications.

Now that I've said that I guess I'll answer the question! I use pretty much what has already been posted...name, title, company, email, web, cell but not necessarily in that order! I have recently started using my tag occasionally and want to more...I just need to go in and change my sigs to include it.

Make it a great day!
