Question Please check out my "Sorta" newsletter
I call it my "sorta" newsletter because it's not actually a newsletter but it looks like one and I'm hoping it will make the people who receive it want to read at least a little bit of it.
One more way to get my name in their head I figure.

I have spent most of today gathering approx. 120 mailing addresses for the construction companies in my area (within 20 miles there are over 2,000) and I hope to send them all my "newsletter"

Please tell me what you think.

Christina, I'm curious what program you used to create your newsletter and what system you'll use for distribution?

Tess,
I used MS Publisher to make it (I use it for everything-getting pretty good at it too).
I plan on snail mailing it out to all of the addresses I've collected so far.
I'm sticking with targeting my local area for now as I have a better chance of them knowing me. I have dealt with so many of the construction companies around me, but they won't recognize my last name (got married since last I dealt with any of them). I figure I can follow up with the ones I'm familiar with and reintroduce myself.
Hubby is afraid I may be setting myself up for a bombardment of clients- I say "Bring it on!" Besides I can always ask for help on here.

That's great to know I've never used MS Publisher, honestly (I've never done anything for print other than logos and business cards) - well, it looks superb. I didn't realize you were doing snail mail! Please be sure to keep us posted on how it goes for you; wishing lots of new, ideal clients for you.

Be prepared for that 'bombardment' of interest; I'd suggest taking a moment to sit down and write a list of qualities you're looking for in your working relationships. It will help you stay focused.

When are you sending these out?

Thanks Tess.
I actually had never used Publisher before. I needed a way to get my business cards etc to match and my son said the easiest way was to use publisher. You set your color, font, etc preferences and it remembers them whenever you start a new type of marketing material. It's pretty cool. I was using it for my business cards but my printer refuses to keep them all lined up on the paper, so I recently customized and ordered some through Vistaprint.

I hope to send these out by next monday at the latest. Working on getting the labels ready to print. I may be adding a coupon in the envelope. I have one on my brochures so I figure it wouldn't take much more effort to print out and send along. Coupon is for 1 hr free consultation and then 2 free hrs of work time after the first 3 paid hrs. exp 1/31/08.
