Default Need help transferring my Publisher newsletter to Mail Chimp
Hello all you tech savy people. I created a newsletter on Publisher, it looks good, it has my branding and a great article, good information...

Here is the problem, I can not get it transferred to Mail Chimp, it needs the coding or something like that to copy the template. When I try to email from Publisher it comes through cracked and in pieces. I do not want to send it out as a link, because then people may not open it.

I figured out how to download the PDF version into Acrobat, which then I can email that link to people (but that is really slow when you open up the link). Once you open up the Acrobat link you can copy the URL or Code and paste it on Mail Chimp, but this has not worked either, I just get a big box with a big red X. I really do not want to use the Mail Chimp templates because I can't get the colors that I want which is just as much my branding as my logo and name.

Can someone PLEASE help me? I have spent two full days on this.

Hi Erika, I hate to break it to you but it isn't possible to transfer or upload a Publisher file into MailChimp, at least not in a clean way [unless I'm missing something]. The Microsoft program adds all kinds of extra unnecessary 'stuff' to your template when you convert it to HTML, which is why it's coming out broken.

The best thing to do is start over and create your newsletter in straight HTML, then MailChimp will be able to send it intact for you.

Here's a bit more info, just in case someone else needs similar resources:
Convert Publisher files to HTML

From the MailChimp FAQ:
Can I use Word or Publisher to create my content or my HTML?

I already have artwork created. Can I transfer/upload my flyer to MailChimp?

Thanks Tess, with a little research on MailChimp, I have come accross the HIE5 program and just got done downloading it. Maybe I can find something to work with on that. I appreciate all the added information.

Apparently it is a HTML template download. They have more free exciting and versitle templates than MailChimp and it works with them. I was up until Midnight working on the newsletter. But I got it done, when the email is ready, you send it to MailChimp and then you go from there.

I can not believe how much I have learned in the past few months, and yet there is still so much out there to learn.

Well the time that I spent on my Publisher newsletter is not going to be totally wasted. With a little tweaking, I transformed it to a flyer and now I am going to use it as a fax newsletter to potential clients in my local area

MailChimp and the HIE5 template download Rocks I was up late last night creating my newsletter, got home today and checked it (good thing, because it is not good when you work on things when you are tired) and I mailed out my first newsletter to 97 different people! Plus my networking group wanted me to create an invitation that can be emailed to potential members and I created it and emailed it to the members of the group. I got one and it looks awesome (if I do say so myself) and it has a link to the networking site (it works too) and a link to forward to a friend! I feel like I am on top of the world right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reminding me Kathya. Here is the link to the HIE5 templates http://www.mailchimp.com/resources/h...ail_templates/
This link is through MailChimp. They have far more templates if you want to purchase them. But the free ones are nice, there are quite a few for newsletters and a little less for postcards, annoucements, invites, or whatever you want to create on it.
