Default Looking for Advice on Aweber v Constant Contact
One of my coaching clients has asked me to review the benefits of Aweber v Constant Contact (or any other autoresponder program) with her teleclass students next week.

I already use Aweber and Constant Contact (although the latter, not as extensively as Aweber).

I'm looking for some advice on what my fellow VA-ers think I should focus on in this discussion. Price, attributes, best one to begin with and why?

Bonus: The client states one student is interested in a VA so I'm hoping to quietly tout what I can do for them using an autoresponder program.

Thanks!

Janine

A prospective client of mine asked me specifically about Constant Contact, so I took the plunge and now send out a monthly newsletter. I like the price - free for the first 60 days, which will get me three monthly newsletters if I don't procrastinate. Once I subscribe for real I can send to as many as 300 people for $15.00 a month. And I found it extremely easy to use the templates to make a newsletter to my liking. The reports are basic, but I can see who has read my newsletter and what links they have clicked on. I have not tried Aweber so I can't compare.

Thanks Pam. I also believe CC offers a survey feature which I know Aweber does not.

The client I am working with is an Aweber affiliate so I will play up on some of its capabilities. Unfortunately, Aweber does not have a free trial offer.
Thanks for your input.
I appreciate it.

Hi Janine,

I use both Aweber and Constant Contact. Both have their pros and cons. What I like about Constant Contact is that the interface is a bit more user-friendly. I use it to design newsletters for a client of mine, there are templates to choose from, etc, etc. I am not sure if Aweber has any templates to choose from -- you can certainly create your own HTML template though and use it in broadcasts/follow-up sequences.

Aweber is great on the Autoresponder side of things. You can have multiple lists with multiple follow-up messages, broadcasts, etc. I also like being able to review reports for my clients. There are so many different ways you can review sign-ups, subscribers, verified and unverified leads. It is pretty neat if you like and need that sort of thing (which I think if you are going to be utilizing sign-up boxes and have many leads, using the reports and tracking is extremely important).

As far as price, you are right, I don't think Aweber has a free trial. Constant Contact does as long as you have 100 contacts or less (for the first month or something like that I believe).

So, those are just some of my thoughts on the two applications. If you have any questions about what I have said here, I will do my best to answer

Thank you. It is interesting that Aweber is not on this list.

Here's a more up-to-date comparison of email marketing services. AWeber comes in last place. A service called Vertical Response is rated #1. I'm not familiar with it but plan to explore it now.
