As a professional VA I'm often asked to maintain various mailing lists, particularly for e-newsletter campaigns. The emails to be added to the list usually come in a mess of both text and emails mixed together with no easy way of putting them on a list and checking for duplicates.

So, we built one.

If you click here you'll find an easy to use email collection and alphabetizing tool that works with the click of a button.

Simply copy and paste the entire text (including emails) you'd like to clean up and click the "Get them!" button and in less than ten seconds all of the emails in the chunk of text you entered will appear, listed, sorted, alphabetized, and free of any duplicates.

It's then quick and easy to copy and paste the resulting list into whatever necessary file you need to either add to an XL sheet or upload to your e-newsletter program.

I've been so busy lately I haven't yet had time to give all of these great new tools a try but today when a client sent me a HUGE word document full of emails with various bits of text I remembered this one so gave it a try.
WOW!
What would have taken me hours to copy and paste into a TXT file for uploading to their Vertical Response mailing list was done in like ten seconds.

I will definitely be using this again.
I loved being able to copy and paste the whole thing in at once and was impressed to see that it did remove duplicates, but not only that, gave me an alphabetized list of just the emails.

Yikes! When we moved from my old business URL the link broke...Sorry guys!! I'll get it fixed ASAP. I'll update the top link and repost here with the new one....

My pleasure - thanks for letting me know the link was broken - we can't have *that*!! When we moved URLs I went through the entire forum and edited every link and post that had the old URL and site name (thank goodness it was much smaller then!) but I must have missed this one.

Ah, by the way - you don't need to use the 'Separator' feature - just copy and paste and click the button and you'll get your alphabetized and de-duped list of emails.

It does sometimes hold onto the rare URL that looks similar to an email address, so give the list a quick scan once you've got it.

I just used this again today for a client who sent me a handful of different types of docs with email addresses scattered throughout - wanted to bump this back up because it IS such a useful tool!

When I was looking at various programs to utilize in my business, I was looking for something just like this! I don't have a reason to use it yet,but at least, I know it is there when the time comes. Thanks for bumping the thread.
