Default ezines for clients
I have to admit my knowledge of ezines is limited - I have lots of experience creating newsletters, brochures etc for print and would like some input as to what resources you would recommend for creating an ezine to be emailed to a client's mailing list and can it just be emailed from Outlook - or do you subscribe to a special service for this.

Hi there! I realize this is a very, very late reply but wanted to reply and share some information I found recently that tries to explain the difference between eZines and eNewsletters, I've also included a link that lists a few resources for creating eZines.

From EmailUniverse.com - Newsletter vs. eZine

and from ZineBook, eZine Help and Resource Guide
[At ZineBook there is a large directory of categorized issues and resources related strictly to eZines, check it out here.]

I would think a good autoresponder that allowed unlimited accounts would be the way to go. I'd love to hear others thoughts on this as well, since I'm always looking to improve.

Thankyou for responding to my query. I think that my client really means they want a newsletter/flyer to advertize their business and sales rather than an ezine, so will take it from there.

To answer the other part of your question about using Outlook verses a subscription service (auto-responder)...If you send too many emails from your host it can come across as spam, especially if the content is the exact same for every email. Going through something like 'Constant Contact' (there are many to choose from, some free, some pay it just depends on the features you are looking for and the size of your contact list.) lowers the risk of being labeled Spam and allows you to send out whatever e-item you choose to your entire contact group at once.

I'd definitely look into groups like Aweber, Constant Contact, etc. for what your client wants to do. It will make things more consistent and lower the risk of being labeled Spam.

Hope that helps some.

Thank you for the advice. I have already looked into some of these programs. My client has a very small contact list so until such time as it expands do not think the expense is warranted at this time.

Thank you once again
