I am currently working full time and will be creating a weekly bulletin to send out time sensitive information. Does anyone have recommendations for easy and free service to assist with this? It's for a non profit organization and there is no room in the budget for a subscription based service.

I thought about just using my email program but an looking for something user friendly so someone else will eventually be able to take it over.

Thanks!

I use Constant Contact, which is free for the first 60 days. Then it costs $15.00 a month for up to 300 emails. I think it is very user friendly.

You might check into Vertical Response or iContact. I think both of them have special pricing or possible free accounts for non-profits.

I learned this here on VAF...Simplycast has a free trial of 300 names and there is also a Free for Life program here and the next one up is 1000 subscribers for $4.95.

I like Constant Contact but the free is up after 30 days and Aweber, which is about $20 a month with unlimited and
only a risk-free money back if you don't like it.

You might have to ask directly if they have a separate rate for non-profits. It never hurts to ask.

A word of advice - don't use your own email. Or your client's email if you can help it. It's too easy to be considered spam and there would be lots of problems if that happened.

Thanks for all the great input. I do not want to use my email as I may not be at the company much longer, but want to make it easy for the person who replaces me.
Thanks Again!

Shelley, to avoid the appearance of spam, and risking your domain being blacklisted by email servers everywhere, it's a good idea to use an email marketing company like AWeber, ConstantContact, or one of the others mentioned. Then emails come from their servers, but with your return address. These companies are known and are unlikely to be blacklisted as spammers.

I hope that helps clear the confusion.

@Deb, I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, so correct me if this is not what you meant!

Yes, thanks Cindy - that's exactly what I meant. Sorry Shelley, I should have elaborated!

Also, there are certain anti-spam laws about sending out commercial emails. Things like an opt-out within the email, and a postal address, etc. That link explains it better than I can, but it's another reason why going through Aweber, Constant Contact, etc, is a good idea. They know the laws and help with putting some of that in place.

Plus they keep your email lists and I thought I heard that some automatically remove the opt-outs - but I'm not totally sure on that.
