Default Email Marketing Results
So I have read some past threads about email marketing. I find it interesting that so many people have such differences of opinion about it.

While I know that many people who receive it will just delete it, I also feel like in today's technological day and age, it has the potential to be an effective marketing technique.

I saw someone else ask this same question, but didn't see replies that actually answered it:

I'd like to know if anyone who has done email marketing has achieved decent results! And if so, did you buy a list??

I have done my research on all the laws about soliciting emails, etc. I just want to know if anyone has done it and if it was effective!

Stasie - Like all marketing, the most effective strategies are the most authentic. Building lists, one by one, not buying them. Cultivating relationships with careful attention, never coming off as automated or mechanical with your potential customers. Yes, it takes a while, but the alternative is a a dead end.
One client, for example, has a thousand contacts, but a measly 12% open rate. My email list has 150 people, but I get 30% open rate. Which is more profitable?
Be real, don't buy your market; build it!

Stasie, thank you for asking the question. I have been wondering about this too.
Mary, thank you for you answer. It is simple, possibly slow but simple. One client/potential client at a time, building relationships. It is the VA Way, and has just given me an answer that I have been looking for for some time.

Great answer, Mary.

I would suggest creating a subscriber box and adding that to your website or blog. Offer to send out a newsletter or a tips sheet. When you have built a list over time and have enough people interested in what you have to say then send out the valuable information.

Market your subscriber box in your email signature; on Facebook; in article bios; on your blog for example and watch the list grow with people who have come to know you.

This is called 'permission marketing' and is the most effective because people 'buy into' marketing as opposed to being 'forced' through purchased email lists.

Good Luck!

Janine

I like this statement of yours, Mary! I know that I do not respond to unsolicited emails.... much more inclined to respond to people I have initiated contact with. Offering that contact easily like Janine said is great advice.

Thank you, ladies
