I can't find where I can convert and email to a pdf. They show links to conversion pdf site, but I can't figure out how to get the code to use one of these. Has anyone ever done this successfully before?
Tamika, are you talking about converting a completed Constant Contact newsletter/email to a PDF file?
I'm not sure what the Constant Contact site provides for accomplishing this but you can always use PDF995 (a free conversion tool) the downside to the free version is links within the newsletter do not remain live. With PDF995 you just click 'print' as if you were printing to paper and the PDF995 option is available among your print options once installed.
Otherwise, I always use good old Adobe, which is definitely not free - but in this case the links remain live.
Yes I am talking about a completed email and No Constant Contact doesn't provide for this - very annoying.
My client wants to do the newsletter in constant contact and then have pdf (or some sort of way) for persons visiting their website to look at it. Constant Contact offers and archive so I guess that could serve the same purpose. I did a search and saw your recommendation for PDF995, but I think I need the HTML code in order to convert to a pdf.
I've figured out how to get the HTML and now I need to try to convert it. I think I need to talk it out.. lol.. I let you know if it works.
No you don't need to use the code to convert any file to PDF, you click 'print' as if you were printing the newsletter itself to paper, choose PDF995 and it will convert. Give it a try, it's really easy.
I've just printed as a pdf without any problem. But since it's only $5 to have Constant Contact archive and looks even better, I strongly suggest this option to my clients.
Yes, I agree Sue. I would suggest that for the sake of SEO on your client's site you create actual HTML pages out of each newsletter on her site itself. But the PDF995 'printer' is a good option if she insists.
