Question about a Welcome Package
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to get my welcome package together but I am getting stumped. I don't know what I should include in the package and what not to include. I don't want to put to much, but than again I don't want to put to little.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Stephanie

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
I have a flyer, business cards, a tips sheet, and a bi-fold brochure.

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
There was another discussion about welcome packages you can find it here
This thread really helped me figure out what I wanted to put in my welcome package. Also check the contracts forums for ideas as well.
Good luck,

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
Hi Serita,
Thank you, now I know what I was missing it was a brochure. Do you know where I can possibly find a sample brochure so that I can get an idea on what I need on there?

What I did to create my brochure was to research what others used on their website. What information do you want to be shared. I have my prices on it, a little information about me, small list of what I can do for them, some pics, and of course contact information and my website address.
You can find my brochure here

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
I used a real estate based one from HP because my target market are realtors. There is a thread on here I just posted yesterday titled "for those of you wanting brochures that will take you to the HP small business templates.
And thanks for the other thread Erika. I had forgotten where I had viewed it previously. I was looking under the printed media thread

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
Rightly or wrongly, I've never bothered with a "welcome" package. Provide a copy of the signed contract, including terms and conditions and other material signed/agreed to. People don't read this stuff. I sold a condo of mine mid September, received the report yesterday (4 months? ... won't use that lawyer again!). I won't read it (I worked in real estate law for years and I got the $ I was due, just toss it in a file.).
IMHO a welcome package is a waste of your money.

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
I think it depends on the type of personality you are dealing with. You sound like a driver personality Lynne, which means you don't want the thrills and only want the bottom line. It's not that you're not a nice person, because I know alot of drivers, but you just have too much to do and so many other important things to do.
Analytical personalities will analyze everything to death and pick it apart in the process. You better know your facts and everything about those facts or you are in serious trouble.
Expressives are effusive and emotional, bubbly and exuberant. They are the life of the party and they love it!
Amiables are slow movers but don't pick things apart. They are slightly flighty. They want to be everyone's friend.
That's my sales training for the day.

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
I know that in the work I do I have never handed out my brochure, etc. I recently changed my pricing to a prepaid plan which handles a lot of other problems. If you are working virtually I believe your website works as a wonderful welcome package. I have business cards for local potential clients. I still refer them to my website for my information. (Still have brochures available from when I first started if anyone asks for one.)

Re: Question about a Welcome Package
I think I might be with Lynne on this one. The thought of the Welcome Packet gives warm fuzzies but, I don't think they're practical. I want to be completely virtual, no postage required. I would be inclined to email or otherwise have electronic copies of the documents available for download. It's a lot of money to be spent on something that I would shred and dispose of if I received one.
