Default Possible First Client..What to Charge?
Hello!

I have an opportunity to land my first client. This could become a regular client if all goes well. They would like me to provide a quote. The request is to work on the project for 4 hours (this works for me because I work full-time and I can do some of this on my lunch hour.) The work is to post a short advertisement, which will be supplied, on as many free sites as possible during the time allotted. Complete project by April 1. The way I am understanding this is to quote my hourly rate for 4 hours. Correct?

Thanks,
Beth

First congrats! And yes that is what I would do. Provide a scope outlining exactly what you will be doing w/your hourly rate.

You may also want to include how many posts you will be able to make in that four hours. Some postings take much longer than others and are you going to need to find the posting arena's yourself. The more detailed the information the better your chances are of being awarded the job.

Beth - Congratulations

I have a client in CA that ask me to post employment ads for his company to the free sites. He had started the process himself, and then realized how time consuming it could be. He also offered me more than my hourly rate to do this project. Not that it's hard by no means, just time consuming.

So, be sure and quote what your worth
