Default New Client: Need Advice!!!
One of my newest clients has started giving me more work. Im very excited but its a bit overwhelming. I have a couple of questions if you guys could help me out.

1) We communicate by phone text and email. Because she isnt sure how many hours she needs or if there will be loads of work, what is the best way for us to contact each other for work? Wait til she needs me? Check with her daily, weekly, monthly? Let her give me list and I work on them until im done?

2.) Ive read a couple of you guys schedules for your daily work, and ive adopted one for myself. With time contraints, being needed on site sometimes, and trying to get new clients, how do i manage my time appropriately?

3.) I suggested in the beginning of our relationship that i may need passwords, usernames, and access to certain things with the work she gives me or for her to make my own. What all do i need to ask from her besides sharing email and access to certain software that she uses?

Thanks guys. I need all the help i can get. I want to keep this client for a long time.

Well, if she is going to give you an as needed job right now. I would say if she gives me the work then I get a 2 hour window to start until you work out the specific days and times.

Also tell her to contact by email, unless it is an emergency.

The password thing would be on a as needed basis, if she wants you do to do the work then you need the password for it. You both will learn what you both need from each other.
Logmein.com is a really good and free computer sharing software.

Alisa, it's great to hear that your client is giving you more work - I'd take that as a compliment.

1) Personally I prefer email communication as it means I can respond when I have time to digest the email and consider what questions I may need to ask. You can always follow-up with a phone call if you need to clarify anything further. I also like having a weekly call with clients as I find it helps to touch base regularly. It also gives you an opportunity to go over current projects and also ask if they have anything coming up.

2) In short, I'd say it comes down to prioritizing your time. Focus on the stuff that is top priority (especially client work) but also add in time for working on your business (i.e. marketing, blogs etc.)
