Default Need help with cover letter for new client
VA's

I have a good lead for my first client that is not a referral. They are asking for some specifics to be mentioned in my cover letter. Since this is the first time I am actually trying to interest a client in using virtual services, can someone guide me in writing the cover letter.

The client is an attorney/investment broker. He is looking for an administrative assistant to work 20 - 25 hours a week in the office. I would like to convince him to fill the position virtually as opposed to a traditional employee. I really think a good cover letter may do the trick. Any suggestions? Is there a good site that has sample cover letters? I really want to get this client. HELP!!!

Having worked at both a law firm and a securities firm, the issue you will need to address is convenience. The client wants you in the office so they can drop things off on your desk as needed, and they may not want to send the instructions via email.

I would highlight that your availability is there when they need you (not just the 20-25 hours they were thinking they needed covered). Do you know why they only need a PT assistant? Maybe they already have a PT assistant and need you to get work-in-progess handed off so you can finish it? If so, then maybe schedule a daily meeting to track project progress. I may be way off-base here, but trying to think of reasons why they want you in the office so you can address them with a solution.
