Default Meeting new client in person and meeting another person
Ok so the end of March has been great for me so far! So that is exciting news. Tonight, I am set to meet a client to pick up some paperwork for his company etc. It will be a very quick meet and greet.

So when he sets up our meeting he says, oh by the way I have been talking about your services to a friend and she will be there tonight!

Is it too much for me to bring some paperwork etc on my company for her while I am there? Or just let her tell me what she needs. I have never met one client and then maybe have it lead to another so I am a bit anxious.

What should I bring along if anything that may help seal the deal with the prospective client ?

If you don't have a welcome kit as an introduction I would recommend:
  • Blank contract. Just in case. You don't want to be unprepared
  • Flyer with services list
  • Business cards
  • Notebook for taking notes on your conversation. If you have to generate a proposal you don't want to forget key points.
Congratulations on the new client and on the new referral. This sounds like it will be a very productive evening for you!

Congrats on the great new connections!

I would take your client's statement as an open invitation to include the friend in the conversation - she's clearly interested and the first PC is talking you up already, so while your main focus should be on your contact, do find ways to include the other person in the discussion. She may very well pipe up with her own questions.

And I agree with Serita, it would be smart to be prepared with paperwork, business cards, etc. for both of them.

As to how to seal the deal, I'll tell you that more than anything else, clients gravitate toward a confident service provider who clearly knows how to find their pain points and offer solutions. So go in there with your confidence high and really listen to what they tell you. Then use your brilliant powers of deduction to hone in on their biggest needs as business owners and offer a solution

Please let us know how it goes! Good luck!!
