I feel so lucky to have found this sight! This is a big job and I am so ready to do it! I am having a little anxiety about finding clients though! Any advice on how to go about searching out clients???

Welcome to the VA world. Finding clients is something that we are all anxious about in the beginning. Start by getting your name out there. Talk to whoever will listen. Get your website set up, business cards printed, join a few groups on LinkedIn or wherever your target client might be. If you are not on Twitter, set up an account and follow your target client. I have found clients just be seeing things that other people post and sending an email or reply of some sort. Just stay positive. It will happen. And remember that you are not alone.

Definitely make sure you have a solid, informative website to send potential clients to. The goal of a great website is to do most, if not all, of the "selling" for you so when clients come to you, they're pretty much ready to get started! You also should be clear on who your ideal client is, which is something that may come with time; as you start working with different people, you can determine who you most enjoy working with. You can also check out a really great free ebook at www.attractyourniche.com for help in this area. Then, once you know who you're targeting and have your website up and running, you can start sending your potential clients there by participating in forums they belong to, publishing articles, posting videos, and other marketing methods.

I too am just starting out and am trying to get my name out there so that I can attract the clients. One of the most treasured advices I have received on this website is to tell everybody and anybody who will listen about your new business.

I have a friend that has made a good number of contacts/clients via Facebook. She is active in local organizations and get a lot of referrals. Personally, Twitter has worked a lot for me. I have "Virtual Assistant" as a saved search on there and I occassionally browse to see what people are saying about Virtual Assistant - some of which are people just saying they need a Virtual Assistant...and I take that as my cue to send them a note and see if it is something I can actually help them with. Sometimes that works. It also helps to establish your Twitter-savvy.
