Default Client Profile?
Not sure if this is the place to post this but when I used to work in abstracting we had a client profile folder on the computer where we'd put our client info in. Included name of contact person, contact info and rates for what services requested. I can see it in my mind but I don't know how to do one. I have one but it's mostly like a questionairre this would be for me to keep for reference. Does anyone use something like this?

Yes, I have a client profile sheet that includes the client name and contact information, as well as login and password information, important dates, etc. I also have one specifically for bookkeeping clients with their company information, names of partners, payroll and tax information, due dates, etc.

I print out a copy and put it in their active work file as well as keep a copy on the computer.

That's what I'm kind of looking for. But I'm not sure how to make the template look like.

It doesn't need to be fancy, it is only for your records. Just decide what information you need to keep handy and make a place to fill it in. Mine were done in Word. I bought my forms from VACOC for not much money. The bookkeeping form I did myself because I needed more information.

I did this as well and they have been very helpful. I think I tweaked mine a bit though.

I have made all my own forms because I want them to look a certain way and have certain information. I too have a file on my computer with all that stuff and also in the clients folder I keep in the filing cabinet.

I want them to look a certain way too but not sure what that way is! I guess I'll figure it out once I get some clients. It will be one of those things I'm just not going to stress about right now!

Janice, this is probably going to be an evolving form as you learn what info you do /don't need so what I'd do is create a database with the info and do a mail merge to the form. That way if you change it down the road it'll be easy to update the older clients to the new version of the form.

So you would ask your clients to complete the profile? I was thinking of something I can do for myself. I didn't think the client would want to fill something like that out.
