Default Networking Roster List
Hello everybody,

Recently I attended a face-to-face networking meeting and it turned out really well. The day after the meeting, I received via email, a roster containing all the emails and names from all the attendees from the organizer of the meeting and she explained that she sends this list out to all attendees so that we can get in touch with each other.

I have been planning an email marketing campaign and my question to the group is, can I use that list of emails for an email marketing campaign to introduce my va business or do I need to have their permission to send them emails?

Thanks.

Ivette

Definitely! The list was probably generated from the sign-up list and if an attendee didn't list their email they were more or less saying "don't bother me." Those giving that info are "networking" and are waiting to hear from you to learn more about you and hoping they can be of service to you.

What a great, unexpected resource you have here. I'll be curious to know how many emails you get from others on the list.

I've dealt with lists like this gathered by my clients and yes, in all cases, the general idea is that whoever attends is open to receiving info, and will likely use the contacts to send info out as well. So go for it!

A friendly, it was nice to meet and network with you, here's a special introductory offer for you... is a great idea!

Ivette,

I would add them to my list. I would also like to add the following tip. At each meeting choose two or three people that you talked or connected with and send them a follow-up email shortly after the event. Make each one personal based on discussions that you had. As for the others, I would send a quick it was nice to meet you at such and such event, hoping to get to know even more about your and your business....

Connect with them first before sending them marketing information so they are more likely to remain on your lists.

Hello Ladies,

Thanks so much for such wonderful tips. It is so nice to have so much good information from all of you. The list is not big but who knows what business might be generated from it.

Thanks again.
