Default Meetup.com
I just joined www.meetup.com for my local area and I just wanted to say there seem to be some really good groups to get involved in. I joined one that gives me an opportunity for one coaching call to help improve my website for around $15 and the other is a business builders group that only accepts 1 person per a profession. They are a group that is for getting referrals for your business. This seems like a really great opportunity for anyone that is looking for new business, so I wanted to share it with all of you. I know it has been briefly mentioned as a reply somewhere on here, but being as it is such a great opportunity I thought it deserved its own post

I agree with you Serita. Meetup.com is a valuable resource for networking, both business and personal. I just started a personal networking group a few weeks ago. This Sunday will be our first meetup. For $13/month Meetup gives you everything you need plus insurance! The template, formatting, questions about anything you need to know. Anyone can start ther own group up without ever having organized a networking group before. Even though my meetup is a personal meetup, it will give me the leverage needed to meet business people and spread the word about VA. I also intend to start a VA meetup group in the new few months for even more visibility. There are business meetups in my count but nothing in my immediate vicinity. Since my town is the county seat, there are a lot of business people, esp attorneys, in the downtown area. Our Chamber has hundreds of members, both corporate and small business owners. I would like to meet some of these people. There is a VA meetup group in my state but pretty far away. I think it is time to start a local VA group and let people know what VA is all about.

That's a great idea Jo-Carole. I would also suggest that you make it a VA/ business networking meetup. If there are alot of businesses and VAs in your area you should all be able to work together and get some great clients out of it

Hi Serita, yes that is exactly what I plan to do. I know there are VAs in my area and also in surrounding counties. Hopefully other people will see my VA meetup and start their own and it will catch on and spread the word about VAs. Meetup just makes it so easy .
