Meetup.com is a good place to looking for events in your area, either networking or social. Even searching on the internet for "Networking Events XXXX" where x is your local area. I also recently discoverd Biznik, which might have events in your area as well. You can often find local networking groups and events by simply typing the name of your city plus business networking into Google.
