Default Where do you store your audios?
For those of you out there that put your audios on your site please share. In order for it to work with my WP plugin I need the audio to have a url created. What company have you found to be reasonable in price that you can upload your audios to?

Hello,

I store my audios on my host site where my website and blog are located.

What plug in are you using? Are you using a self-hosted WP website or a Wordpress.com site?

Janine

It's hosted by another company but I've heard others say there are specific ones for audio?

Originally, I hosted my audio on my own web host with my website files - now I host them on Libsyn...simply because of bandwidth. If I ever post an episode that gets a lot of traffic, I don't want to run the risk of bringing my site down due to heavy traffic.

I use the audio player plugin on Wordpress and use the audio URL provided to me by Libsyn. It works out nicely.

Glad you responded Darlene. I figured you would be a good person to talk from experience. I hadn't thought about the web traffic aspect. You find Libsyn is reasonably priced?

Hi Colette,

Yes - I have found Libsyn reasonably priced. They have several different plans to choose from - the first starting at around $5 I think. What I really like about using Libsyn is the statistical data provided for the audio files, it shows download stats, where people are downloading from (iTunes, web, etc) and even their location (US, Canada, etc.).

Thanks for this info Darlene!
Right now I've only got 3 audio files (introductory seminars I've recorded) and I've stored them on my website. Of course because I am just starting out bandwidth is not an issue (today - am I optimistic or what?) but I may need a service like Libsyn in the future.
Thanks again, Barbara
