Google’s YouTube has recently launched their SearchStories feature which allow you to create video search stories using search terms, and then adding music and easily uploading to your YouTube Channel.

You simply enter search terms, which can be either keywords or phrases and then you have the option of showing what comes up for these terms in either a web search, images, blog search, product... Click here to read the rest of this post at the Social Media Virtual Assistant at Large blog.

Kimberly, or anyone else who's playing around with this new feature, I'm so curious to learn more about how this could be a useful marketing tool? It sounds really neat and well-thought-out, just wondering about the practical applications for a small business?

I did play around with it a bit and mostly I think it's just a fun tool. Maybe a bit of an advertisement if you put in the right search terms...but mostly it's to promote Google.

I did one for OTC Sports and in addition to product keywords, I also include Jeff's name, and a map search that shows the address/location of our new retail space...so I think for a 30 second video, it could have some worth. If I were a really active YouTube user and had a bunch of subscribers and viewers then I would be able to see if it had any effectiveness via YouTube's insights. As it is now, we haven't been very active on YouTube so I doubt anything we put up right now is going to get very many views.

You do get to upload it to your YouTube Channel and it also goes in with the other Search Stories that were created so there's some possibility for exposure there especially if you include a keyword rich description.
