A lower third (or sometimes referenced as a bottom third) is a piece of text or graphic that appears in the lower portion of video. Lower thirds are used often during news broadcasts to display school closings and sporting event scores, this is a good example of a lower third. You can use a lower third in your online video to provide additional information or to provide a call to action for your product or service.
