Your Dream Project Manager?
Since we have so many Multi-VA teams beginning and flourishing let's start a topic to list the qualities of your "Dream Project Manager"

What would or do you have them do each day?

What qualities and skills do you look for?

VA Project Managers I'd like to hear your advice as well!

I'm subbing for 2 VAs (LOVING IT ) and want to be the best Project Manager I can be!

Thanks!
Deirdre

Great idea for a post, Deirdre. I would like to see any feedback about this as well.

Each of my subs is a "project manager" on the tasks I assign to him/her. However, one of my subs is my "lead VA" and fills in for me when I'm sick/on vacation, etc...

The attributes of this sub? For me, she goes "over and above" simply completing the tasks I send to her. It is not uncommon for her to message me with new ideas how we can process something easier/better/wiser. She is a problem solver. Thus, rather than always coming back to me if she has a question, she does research and many times solves the question herself. She mentors some of my newer team members with a cheerful attitude.

A great team of subs is an amazing blessing!

As a multi VA team (MVAT) business I require a Project Mgr (PM) and it is very difficult to find someone that you know will be dedicated working with my team. So as a MVAT this is what I would look for in a PM:

One who is proficient in the web such as internet marketing and social media marketing and project management.

Who knows Wordpress very well and knowledgeable in html.

One who loves to continue learning and growing their skills online.

I also want a PM the is dedicated in helping me grow my business too, not just looking to make money.

They need to be passionate about the industry and to work with my team as a PM.

I hope i helped and should anyone out there fit the above skills please do send me a message.

I agree with VBSOD on this one.. you really need someone who not only possesses the proper skill set, but also someone who is above reproach, can handle problems gracefully and doesn't run to you with a million questions but rather figures things out for him/herself.

After working in the project management/project control field for 21 years, I think a good project manager should be extremely organized, have great communication skills and be a problem solver.

Depending on how many projects are being run at the same time, if the PM is not organized or doesn't communicate well with the team than some or all the projects are going to head south in a hurry. I also want someone who will come to me with solutions, not problems.

In my opinion, good communication and teamwork are the keys to a successful project.
