Default Mindset From Employee To Independent
Recently I had a conversation with a multi-VA owner about being frustrated with their team not going the extra mile to show what talents they have to grow the firm. She said they can do it with suggestions and communications. What I mentioned was that members really have a difficult time changing their mindset going from employee to self employed. Especially if they're subcontracting.

Does your firm assist members make this transition? If not can you give suggestions to team members?

Good question!

Honestly, I haven't run into this problem yet. I think mainly because my subs have all been in business for awhile so they have had time to make the transition.
I am the first one to point out if they are undervaluing themselves though so, in a way, I guess I am pushing them to get the last bit of "employee mindset" out of them.

This is something I blog about. The mindset shift is a very important one if they're going to be successful as business owner/operators.

This has also been a difficulty for me as well. Which is only human. If you have been working for someone else for so many years, you become conditioned to be that way. What I find helpful with anything that I need to change is do it for 30 days straight, and it becomes more of a way of doing things. I approach starting my business that way to stay focus on it.
