I'm a newbie who plans to do a lot of reading on this forum and (remember I warned you) will be asking many, many questions! I know there is much to learn from each of you about becoming a VA.
A little bit about me.....I have been in the administrative work force for 30+ years. I began as a "Gal Friday" in 1973 (does anyone still use that term!?) and have been the Programs Director for a Public Housing Authority for the past 25 years.
I am now living in the country with my horses and am loving it.....except for the commute. I am disciplined enough to be able to work from home and so am trying to determine if what I have to offer for services will justify the expense of contracting for a satellite internet connection (still only have 'dial up' here in "Whoville"!). I recently read about virtual assistants and it really peaked my curiosity.
I am looking forward to learning from you and welcome your suggestions, tips and critiques!
I vaguely remember "Gal Friday" and I also remember the key punch! Glad to have you here and I hope that you find everything that you need. Any questions, just ask, that is what this forum is all about.
Interesting you mention Gal Friday as I know quite a few VAs have named their businesses around the concept of 'Virtual Girl Friday'!

From one horse owner to another, you've come to a great forum! When I was working, I hated the commute as well. Now, I get the privilege of looking out the window while I work and seeing my horses playing together and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
