What have you done, or are you currently doing, to find and connect with potential clients? Make sure you are spending consistent amounts of time networking with [online or off] and marketing to your target market.

And since you already have a few clients - my best suggestion would be to ask for referrals - word-of-mouth is the *best* marketing available!

I agree with Tess, referrals are a great way to gain new clients, especially if your offer an incentive...for example if a current client refers someone to you and they become a client you could give them a free extra hour of service. Sometimes a little extra something can help inspire a referral, also sometimes you just need to ask them too, it doesn't hurt to say "I really enjoy working with you, do you know anyone else who may benefit from my services?"

I agree with Tess. Word of mouth is the best way to market. Personally, that's how I got my first client.

Network, Network, Network! Not just online but off as well! Locate networking groups in your area and get out there. Start as a guest to make sure you feel the group is right for you and attend as often as you can.

Well my first client was my boss that laid me off, lol!! My second client found me, I had posted my resume on craigslist and she contacted me. I have posted my qualifications and what not on various job boards and I used flexjobs (2 months) to try and find something but that didn't do any good. I also have a facebook page that I tried to get out but that didn't go any where. I am just having a problem with self promotion not sure how or where to do it. I have also tried to cold call a few of those virtual office companies that offer smaller companies conference room and a nice store front without actually having them.

Any other suggestions?
