At the beginning of the year, I had a feeling the company I was a Paralegal/Leasing Specialist for was not going to stay in business forever. I began looking for a new job, but they are hard to find these days. I really didn't want to work in a law office anymore, but wanted to continue to utilize my paralegal degree. So...I began researching work at home jobs and was amazed at the amount of opportunity there is out there for paralegals virtually from home. I continued to research and weed out good and bad job search sites. I began working as a contractor for one document preparation service and at the same time I began doing work form them, my company laid three of its employees off, including me. I am still having to look for work currently due to being laid off, but also in the meantime I am still researching the great possibilities of the virtual paralegal career. I have been laid off for a month now and so far I have only seen one opportunity for my type of work in the area I live and I sent a resume, with no response. Noticed two weeks later the same ad was posted, so I believe I may have applied somewhere I had worked before. Tough times seeking a job right now. I have a good feeling about the virtual paralegal opportunity and look forward to learning more.
