Hi all,
I'm looking into virtual assisting. I'm a stay at home mom and homeschool 3 out of 5 children, while also attending college. I wanted to find out about how to begin Virtual Assisting so I joined this forum. I'm really in the beginners stage and have little more than a resume from my years of Administrative Assisting and Development Assisting.
I know the basics of what equipment I need and how much time that I will have to put in to REALLY be successful. I more in the inquisitive stage and am researching everything.
How do I go about advertising myself and my skills to businesses without having them take advantage of my services?
Preventing underpayment and overworking?
What is the general rate? Do most do hourly, salary or contract?
How do you measure amount of work and your worth?
How do I register hours worked?
How do I prevent the org(s) from convincing me into coming into the office (which would totally defeat the purpose!)?
How will I know if VA is right for me?
I know its a bunch of questions but please patronize me for a moment! I'm really in the dark here.
