Old but New
Hi All!

My name is Danielle and I am a newbie. I recently won a few online freelance bidding VA jobs and have realized I FINALLY found my calling! I am introverted and have a little girl that is 20 months old. I WANT TO WORK FROM HOME!! (for now ) My day job is in the IT dept of a non profit and I get full benefits. People think I am nuts for wanting to go to FT with my VA firm but its about working for myself, havging time for my family and financial and creative freedom. a

I have worked in the IT industry ( technical ) for over 7 years and am completely burned out. I am in the process of starting my VA firm and have found that I live in a great area to do this since there arent many.

Some challenges I have are deciding on a business name since I prefer to do work globally....Most business in my city use the region name and I am sooo tempted but I need to make sure its appeals to a wider audience. One of my current clients is in AUSTRALIA, wow what a challenge when trying to post to their FB page and other time sensitive things but I love it!

I also specialize in baby products because well I am a mom and big into local food/sustainability and cloth diapered for over 18 months! I seem to be attracting a ton of baby folks so maybe thats my niche.

I also do graphic design and print media and that is fun as well. I am soo glad I found this forum!!!!

-D

Hi Danielle,

You sound excited! I don't know if it helps, but I came up with my business name by using the 1st 2 letters of both my first name and surname - AL from Alana and FA being 1st 2 letters of my surname. Also, alpha (alfa) being 1st.

Thats a great idea Alana what a cool idea! Its hard you know since I have to COMMIT to using the name and all. I just need to bite the bullet already and pick a name.

Spend some time on it...I thought I had the right one with Classic Concierge - debated around in circles forever. Signed up for all my social media accounts and then moved into Classic Exec - simple and easier to explain. Good luck, yip its fun to have international clients and work out the time zone - one of mine is in th.e Caribbean so only 3 hours

I just got another client, this one is also in the sustainable world and he is well established. I'm really shocked that I keep getting green folks.

My other client just asked for more hours. I am wondering at what point do I drop my day job and just go with it....So scary but fun!

I like your company name, it is simple and really easy to explain without being boring. It's very classy.
