Hi, all, I just found this forum and joined. I basically started my VA business back in August of 2007, but am just now getting it up and running and looking for clients. I am still working on updating certain items in my website, but after talking with Sharon Williams at The 24 Hour Secretary a few weeks ago, at least it is something! Now all I need is the work, and, of course, any suggestions on getting clients from the talented members of this forum. Thanks for letting me be a part of this group and I hope I can contribute and not just ask questions!

Thanks for the welcome, Tess. I am hoping to eventually go from full-time employment to part-time with my VA business and then from no time at my real job to all time with my VA business! I am also on the last leg of my medical transcription course and hope to start doing some medical transcription as well!

Welcome! I, too work a 9-5 while building up Goddess. There's lots of great information here.

My best advice is to just put on your reading glasses and dive in.

I feel your pain ut: There is so much to take in and absorb as a new person its a bit overwhelming, exhillerating and inspiring. I've been toying with the idea of being a VA for more then 2 years and today I joined this forum to gain more of a foundation that can help calm my fears as a newbie & 9 to 5-er.

I would like to work part time providing VA services, but I'm unsure of my initial route...Do I start from scratch and hit the ground running or is it necessary to start a program with an online VA school, which school is inexpensive and legitimate where tuition is concerned?

Thanks for all the encouragement! Nikki, years ago I did some transcription for a theologian and it was tedious and long but I made a couple hundred dollars doing it. Life got in the way and I did other things, but now I am back to it. It's hard getting started again, but the first thing I did was get my name and set up my website. I have reading for the last year on VAs and there's a lot of info out there. Hang in there....
