Welcome aboard! I am a newbie myself and this forum is a wonderful place to gather information, resources and general advice. I hope you love it here.

When I first joined, I felt a bit overwhelmed too. But I found that taking it day by day, and step by step, helps. I am keeping a running checklist of those items that I still need to work on or acquire, and I jot down information that I need to do further research on or go back and revisit. It helps to keep me from getting bogged down or feeling flustered or worried that I will forget certain pieces of information.

Everyone here is very friendly and helpful so don't be afraid to join in and ask questions, even if you think it's a silly question. Whatever it is, you're sure to find many who've been there, done that and survived it.

Working alone can be isolating and I think of this Forum as our "water cooler". My dogs are great listeners but, once I've done telling them all about it, they just go back to sleep!

Congratulations on taking that first step and for beginning before your contract is up. You'll find loads of info here and plenty of people willing to share their experiences. Even though it's daunting to work for yourself with all the extra responsability, it is also really exciting and fulfilling and I'm really glad I made that choice. All the best!
