Hello to everyone! I'm an aspiring VA researching all the information I can get my hands on! Found this forum and was impressed with all the information members were supplying.

I always rate the forums I visit according to how much and how willing members are to share information with other members. Contributors seem to stay on the topic at hand and offer useful information. I felt this was the perfect forum to get my feet wet.

I have been retired for a year from Federal service, but am looking for a business that I can do from home. I enjoy retirement, but I always need a project of some kind. It's the perfect time to start my own business, but I don't want the restriction of clocking in on someone else's time. I've always done clerical, research and/or investigative work and I'm always using the computer. I'm going back to school for my BS in Information Technology and wanted to figure out how I would make my degree work for me and not let it be simply for self-satisfaction! So, the idea of being a VA came to mind so, here I am trying to research as much as possible before I dive in head first!

I will be asking plenty of questions so I hope you all will be patient during my learning process!

Welcome! I'm new as well. These forums have really educated me in the industry.

Thanks to all for the welcome. These posts are very interesting and I've already gained so much information to consider in getting my business up and running. It takes some time getting through all the forum posts, but I think it is important to gather as much good information as possible. I would like to avoid all the unnecessary mistakes that I could and probbly would make if I don't review all the posts! I'm the type of person who likes to have all my ducks in a row before I jump in half cocked.

I want to thank all the experienced VAs for willingly sharing such vital information to the new comers.
