Hello! I'm Heather McMillan. I've been a VA since 1996 (part time to start!). I am from the metro Atlanta area in Georgia, and I am the mom of one terrific seven, almost eight year old daughter. I have been blessed to have a wonderful significant other since 2005, and my daughter now calls him Daddy (which warms my heart!).
But she is the main reason I wanted to work from home full time. I was missing too many of her school functions and not being able to spend much time with her. Now when she's out of school for holidays or breaks, I can take an hour or two in the middle of the day to take her somewhere. We went to Build-A-Bear together on one of her no school days. And I love that freedom.
I also love that as a VA, I also make more money each year than I made as an employee.
I'm at the stage in my business where I can refuse business that I don't want to do or that doesn't meet my goals or if I'm just not in the mood to do it, because my schedule stays pretty much full.
I didn't realize this forum was here until I saw a post linking to one of my sites, so I was delighted to see another VA forum. The forum is bookmarked now so I don't lose it.
